Wightlink’s response to the Government’s flexible rail season ticket announcement

Wightlink welcomes the Government’s announcement of flexible season tickets on Britain’s railways as commuters look likely to continue combining working from home with travelling to the office.
Wightlink already offers its customers a flexible foot passenger ticket designed for people who frequently travel on its ferries, but do not cross the Solent every day.
The Multilink Passenger Pass can reduce the cost of each crossing to £5.40 and is valid for a year. It offers an alternative to Wightlink’s season tickets for daily commuters, can be used on any of the company’s three ferry routes at any time and is also available for students and children. No booking or amendment fees are charged.
Once signed up, Multilink Passenger Passholders can buy pre-paid tickets for either 10, 20, 40 or 60 crossings online or via the Wightlink App. Discounted parking is also available for customers who buy 60 crossings.

“Many have changed the way they work during the pandemic and fewer people are commuting every day,” says Wightlink Chief Executive Keith Greenfield.
“Although Wightlink Multilink Passenger Pass tickets have been available to purchase for some time, we expect they will become even more popular following the Government’s announcement of flexible rail season tickets.”
